Group of Five: Week 12 Access Bowl Power Rankings
By Zach Bigalke
All Western Kentucky needs to do at this point is keep winning. If they take down Toledo this weekend and the MAC East champion in early December, the current hierarchy within the College Football Playoff or the polls will make no difference. With no other conference slated to produce a champion with fewer than two losses, the Broncos will get the benefit of the doubt from the selection committee and play in the Cotton Bowl.

Of course, that also means that at this point there is no margin left for error. If Western Michigan loses to Toledo, the Rockets rather than the Broncos will play in the MAC championship game. And if WMU was upset in the championship game, that too would eliminate them from the running for the Access Bowl invite. So for P.J. Fleck’s team, all they must do now is keep Rowing the Boat and taking care of everything in their control. If they do that, everything else will fall into place. If they stumble, the teams behind them will enjoy renewed hope.
