College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 13
By Zach Bigalke
After Nebraska was upset by Iowa on Black Friday, Wisconsin didn’t even need to win the Battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe to play in the Big Ten championship game. They took care of business anyway against the Golden Gophers, shaking off a 17-7 halftime deficit with 24 unanswered points in the second half for a runaway victory. Corey Clement rushed for 100 yards and two scores, while the Badgers defense held Minnesota under 300 total yards of offense and forced four turnovers.
Wisconsin will probably remain the top rated two-loss team in the AP Top 25 and the College Football Playoff rankings after this weekend. The Badgers now turn their attention toward Penn State, and should they manage to win in Indianapolis they would have a serious case to make for a spot in the semifinals. Regardless of what happens from here, though, Paul Chryst’s team is going to be playing in one of the New Year’s Six bowl games.
