Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley might be the safest pick at the position. However, he had a down season statistically in 2016. Ridley had less than 800 receiving yards last year and only caught eight passes for touchdowns.

Alabama’s star sophomore quarterback Jalen Hurts could take another step forward in 2017 and that would help out all the receivers around him. The Crimson Tide also lose a few key pieces in the receiving corps like ArDarius Stewart and tight end O.J. Howard. The workload for Ridley will be even greater in 2017 than in the two previous seasons.

Senior receivers Robert Foster and Cam Sims are the two starting next to Ridley this year. Overall, Ridley will have to fit into more of a mentor role than in past seasons. He’s now the proven and experienced option in the receiving corps and that’s a big responsibility for anyone to handle with a Nick Saban coached team.
