The score of the 2016 contest is misleading, as Arkansas added many so-called garbage points in the second half. These weren’t strictly garbage points, as Alabama’s secondary was genuinely struggling to contain the Arkansas passing game. Still, Alabama led 28-7 midway through the second quarter.

Expect a closer contest in 2017, but not too much closer. Something that resembles the final score from 2016 but feels closer in real time. Arkansas quarterback Brandon Allen, if given enough time to throw the ball, may find success against the Alabama secondary. Allen is one of the strongest passers in the SEC, although he doesn’t have as many targets as he had last season.

All of that said, Arkansas’ defensive line is among the weaker units in the SEC. Expect Alabama to run the ball and run often with success. Alabama running backs Bo Scarbrough and Damien Harris should both have strong outings.

Final Score: Alabama 48, Arkansas 31 (7-0, 4-0 SEC)
