College Football Rankings 2017: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 1

Malik Rosier looked comfortable immediately as the new starting quarterback for the Hurricanes, throwing for 218 yards and three touchdowns in the big win over Bethune-Cookman on Saturday. No. 18 Miami also had two 100-yard rushers, as both Mark Walton and Travis Homer broke the triple-digit barrier on the ground. It was a balanced and confident offensive effort by the Hurricanes.
There was some slight concern when Walton went to locker room early before halftime. But he returned to the field in the second half for a few cursory carries and 24 more yards to test everything out before taking a rest for the remainder of the contest. Otherwise, it was a relatively unremarkable victory for the Hurricanes over an overmatched MEAC program.
It was a win that probably did enough to keep the Hurricanes right where they were in the preseason polls, holding firm at No. 18. Now Miami will turn its attention toward road games at Arkansas State and at Florida State.
