2. Malik Rosier is Legit

Many Miami Hurricanes fans wanted freshman quarterback N’Kosi Perry to be the man heading into August. However, semi-experienced passer Malik Rosier won the job through a tough spring and summer camp that saw Jack Allison transfer and Even Shirreffs relegated to eternal back-up duty.

Rosier, a junior, was the man behind the Duke wacky game back in 2015. He’s now the starting quarterback for the ‘Canes in 2017 and has thrown for 600+ yards in two games. If Rosier can continue to score both through the air and on the ground Miami will have success against their ACC slate.

Rosier makes some mistakes, but that’s to be expected. Then he throws complete dimes only his players can catch while working fades and seems in the end zone or firing a dart through traffic. Rosier can move the pocket. He can also use the inside zone read play to keep defensive ends honest and at home instead of squeezing and coming down the line of scrimmage to tackle Mark Walton from behind.

Rosier is now the man for 2-0 Miami and will be expected to manage the football, control the clock, and let what’s supposed to be a strong Miami defense take over the football game.
