Florida State Football: Positional report card for loss to NC State

C. . LB. Florida State. LINEBACKERS

Just like the defensive line, this group deserves the same grade. They did some positive things like holding the Wolfpack rush attack in check for the most part. However, they did not do enough to impose their will and slow down NC State.

Middle linebacker  Ro’Derrick Hoskins was the Seminoles leading tackler in the game with 9 total tackles. But really the linebackers did not seem to make much of an impact of all. There were mental lapses and getting caught out of position at times that cost the team.

Compared to the performance they had as a defense against Alabama, which was fantastic despite the loss, the game against NC State was just a middle of the road performance. It’s really tough to come back after the disruptions that the team had with a three week break between games. They were facing a team that is already starting to round into mid-season form. It’s definitely part of the reason for the uninspiring performance on Saturday.
