5. The Bobby Petrino factor

Petrino has had two stints in Louisville, the first time was from 2003-2006 with a split between Conference USA and Big East. He left Louisville high and dry, eight years later he came back and in the last four years he has helped the same team become relevant again. We know he has a checked past, but the guy can coach. As long as he is at Louisville they will have a shot to be good in the ACC.

To piggy back on what I’ve said in the previous points, even with Petrino on board they aren’t the class of the ACC yet, will he be able to get 10 wins this season? They are 3-1 now, and well on their way, but in his previous three they’ve topped out at nine wins.

We will see how the rest of the season turns out the way he hopes. If Petrino was able to lure Lamar Jackson to Louisville he’s managed to do something right Petrino just stay away from the scandals and maybe everything will workout.
