Ole Miss Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Auburn in Week 6
1. Ole Miss keeps it close — for a half
Ole Miss fans, you can rest easy knowing that your Rebels won’t get blown out — in the first half. OK, maybe that won’t be a very good consolation prize since Auburn is likely to cover the spread, and then some, but with a young team in place, lopsided losses like this on the road will happen.
You know what, these are bold predictions, so I’m going with the Rebels with the points. They will prevent Auburn from covering the spread thanks to a solid aerial attack from Shea Patterson. He’s going to connect with A.J. Brown 10 times for 120 yards and a touchdowns and that’s the type of confidence the young quarterback needs moving forward.
The game will be headed toward a blowout early in the third and fourth quarters before Ole Miss capitalizes on some forced turnovers, scoring a couple of touchdowns. Auburn’s 28-point lead will dwindle down to just 14 before the game’s final whistle.

There are no such things as moral victories in college football, but this is as close as it gets. Ole Miss won’t get blown out by its second straight SEC opponent and the Rebels will use this momentum to beat Vanderbilt in Week 7.
