DL. Louisville. DEFENSIVE LINE . B-.

The defensive line has been pretty solid all year despite allowing Clemson to run for over 300 yards. Take away the Clemson game and this unit as a whole is looked at in a whole different light, in my opinion, but it happened and we can’t erase what the masses saw. I’m going to give props to the linebackers also for just allowing 112.7 yards rushing per game. At the end of the day it starts with the big dogs up front.

This unit has done a nice job harassing the quarterback, they have some defensive ends that cause havoc. Senior James Hearns is the heart and soul of the line and currently has two sacks. He is the end that other teams plan for on a weekly basis because of his resume.

Sophomore defensive end Jon Greenard leads the team in sacks with five. He has a bright future and Louisville fans should be happy with his play.

Senior Trevon Young has 1.5 sacks, but is second on the team with 32 tackles. That is getting it done from the defensive end position. Young and Hearns are the senior leaders and are counted out to make plays week in and week out.
