FSU is in a hole

To put it perfectly clear, Florida State isn’t very good.

The days of saying Florida State and national title contender are currently on a pause, as the Seminoles have only defeated Wake Forest and Duke this year.

If we were talking about FSU basketball, that would make for a good season. But we aren’t.

The most embarrassing loss of the Jimbo Fisher era came Friday night, as Boston College completely out-classed the ‘Noles and ran away with a 35-3 victory on national television.

James Blackman wasn’t expecting to see time on the field this year unless it was in a blowout situation, but the loss of Deondre Francois to a season-ending injury in the opening week of the season prompted his push up the depth chart.

Blackman has struggled, going just 11-for-26 for 102 yards with an interception against the Golden Bears. On the year, he is completing just under 60 percent of his passes and has thrown as many picks as touchdowns – with all seven of his interceptions coming in the last four games.

The freshman from Belle Glade, Florida entered with high praise and equally high expectations – but those were for after Francois left his mark and departed for the NFL.

Florida State has also struggled after the break, as teams have outscored them 59-9 in the third quarter this year.
