2018 Season Outlook

It is fair now for Florida State fans to give up on the 2017 season and look ahead to 2018. This season will be looked at as a lost season and what could have been. Even if Florida State were to surprise everyone by winning out and going to a bowl, it would be a mid to low tier bowl game.

The 2018 season should be better for Florida State. Jimbo Fisher won’t be getting fired after one bad season however one would expect some changes happening to his coaching staff. Sometimes staff changes can inject new life into a program.

The experience now being gained from younger players because of all the injuries should pay off down the line. Florida State currently has 17 commits for their 2018 class and have the eighth ranked class in the nation according to 247 Sports. If they can remain in the top 10, it will certainly help them rebound, especially if some freshman are good enough to play early.

One final thing is to mention never underestimate the power of redemption. All the players who come back next year will vow to never let a season like this happen again. They will work extra hard in the off-season and be motivated once fall camp rolls around next August. While one can never predict injuries and other factors, one should think Florida State will return next year a much better team and contend again in the ACC and perhaps at the national level.
