Leading 6-0 nearing the end of the second quarter, North Carolina appeared to be in prime position to upset Miami this past weekend.

Instead, the Hurricanes scored 17 unanswered and had just enough in the tank to hold UNC off.

Down 24-13, North Carolina scored to pull within a single possession, but they were unable to get any closer, falling 24-19.

Jordan Brown and Nathan Elliott formed a new backfield duo, rushing for 88 and 79 yards. Elliott completed 16-of-39 for 173 yards, but was picked off three times. Beau Corrales had a career-day, catching four passes for 64 yards with two scores.

The Tar Heels will try to snap their six-game losing skid at Pittsburgh next Thursday night.

The Blue Devils have fallen off in terms of of winning games and scoring points, as they were held to just three in a loss to Virginia Tech this past Saturday.

David Cutcliffe’s magic he has twirled with Duke seems to be drying up, as they had just 183 yards of total offense and 10 first downs, committing two turnovers.

Daniel Jones completed only 10-of-24 for 82 yards, giving him a QBR of 21.5. He did add 65 yards rushing, but starting back Shaun Wilson was held to 38 on 12 carries.

And top receiver T.J. Rahming had three receptions for 12 yards.

Duke will try to snap its five-game losing skid when they step out of ACC play and face Army in two weeks.

It’s hard to see Florida State on such a bad run, as the Seminoles just don’t go through this.

This week was the worst of the bunch, though, as FSU quit on Friday night in a 35-3 loss to Boston College.

No offense, no defense, no special teams, no coaching; it was a rough site to see if you are a fan of the ‘Noles.

Florida State fell behind 21-0 midway through the second quarter and had just 213 yards of total offense with three turnovers. Cam Akers ran for 42 yards and James Blackman threw for 102, but that was it.

The Seminoles have four games left to try and get to bowl eligibility and keep their streak of 35 straight postseason games alive. That starts with Syracuse this week.

Much like the aforementioned Florida State, Louisville has fallen on hard times.

This past weekend, Wake Forest put up 42 in a win over Lamar Jackson and the Cardinals. Jackson, the reigning Heisman winner, did his part, throwing for 330 yards and rushing for another 161. He accounted for four scores, but it wasn’t enough.

The Louisville defense allowed 461 yards and five passing touchdowns to John Wolford, with Matt Colburn running for 134.

Sitting at 5-4, the Cardinals take the week off before hosting Virginia and Syracuse in back-to-back weeks.
