Last week’s projection: TCU vs. Penn State

Wisconsin welcome to the playoff and people who want to complain can send their gripes to my twitter handle (@ahammsportsgeek). However, I will explain why I’m putting the Badgers in.

After a while, you have to start rewarding teams for getting this far with an unblemished record. Wisconsin hasn’t done anything to warrant reasons they shouldn’t make the playoff at this point. They have beaten whoever is on their schedule (just like Iowa in 2015) if they make the playoff then they will have earned it. No sense in shutting them out of it already and it’s only they the month of October, heading into November.

Georgia seems to be cruising for a date in Atlanta with fellow SEC undefeated Alabama. They’ve gotten paste the pivotal rival Florida and will face three of their next four games against their other rivals, South Carolina, Auburn and Georgia Tech. While those three present a challenge to the Bulldogs, they appear to be ready and up to the challenge.

Week 9 outlook: This is a week they will test both teams, the dreaded trap games. Wisconsin heads to Indiana and faces a Hoosiers team that’s winless in the conference but has pushed the likes of Michigan and Ohio State this season. After Wisconsin’s less than impressive win at Illinois, the Badgers could be in trouble. As for Georgia, a win vs. South Carolina would only strengthen the argument that two SEC teams quite possibly belong in the playoff.
