4. Sit Wimbush down

This one comes with an asterisk.

If Wimbush is hurt and not healthy, yes, Kelly and his staff should turn control of the offense over to Ian Book. However, do not even think for a second that Wimbush deserves to be benched for his effort – or lack of – vs. the Hurricanes.

Miami just might have the best defense in the country and Wimbush’s supporting cast did nothing to help him Saturday night.

The quarterback completed under 50 percent of his throws and was picked off twice, giving him a dismal rating of 91.9, his lowest total since the Boston College game in September.

On the ground, Wimbush had just 24 yards on 11 carries, which included a long run of 20. Wimbush isn’t the most accurate passer, but he gives Notre Dame the best chance to get to 10 wins if he can prove his health is not a concern moving forward.
