1. Big things still this year

The one huge advantage Notre Dame has is just that, they are Notre Dame. No conference title game to worry about for the Irish, and not even a boring late November schedule. Instead, if Kelly can get the group to pick themselves up and get back to work, there is plenty to play for.

Notre Dame sits at 8-2 with losses to Georgia and Miami. They beat Southern Cal by 35 and downed NC State by 21 in October. Now, they get Navy on Saturday and close with Stanford, two teams who are riding high coming off victories of their own.

If the Irish get to the 10-win mark, major bowl representatives will be putting their hands out looking to sign them up. Heck, talking about the Irish, even at 9-3 with a split to end will possibly give them a big-time postseason date.
