SEC Football Power Rankings 2017: Auburn jumps in Week 12
It wasn’t pretty, but a win is a win. Especially when you get a win over one of the worst teams in the conference. South Carolina continues to impress me. I know they haven’t been dominate at times and their schedule might be somewhat weak, but I’m excited to see how they’ll play against Clemson to close the regular season.
The future also looks bright for the Gamecocks. They suffered some major injuries, like Deebo Samuel this season and they’ll just get better next season. Jake Bentley also looks like he’ll be a consistent quarterback for the rest of his career, remember he’s only a true sophomore. The Gamecocks have a tune up game against Wofford next before facing Clemson to close the regular season.
LSU needed a win after after their tough loss to Alabama. Arkansas was just what the Bayou doctor ordered. While the Razorbacks gave the Tigers more of a game than many might have expected, the Tigers ran away with this one in the end. LSU turned into a somewhat consistent team to close out 2017; which is a far cry from where they began.
Going forward this has been a young team this season and there will be plenty to like, especially the maturity on defense, going forward into 2018. LSU heads to Tennessee next, in what should be an easy win for the Tigers. After that, LSU will host Texas A&M. Both games are ones that LSU should win. Should that happen, LSU could find temselves in a good bowl game with plenty of momentum headed into 2018.
