Pac-12 Football Power Rankings 2017: Title race heats up in Week 12
Finally the Ducks get their signal caller Justin Herbert back. All Oregon fans are taking a collective sigh of relief after the catastrophe that was the last five weeks of offense. The Ducks went from one of the nations best offenses to one of the worst with one injury. If Herbert can lead his team to two wins to finish the season 7-5 they will finish high in the Pac-12 power rankings.
Whenever the Bruins play at least respectable defense and Josh Rosen is healthy they have a chance to beat any team in the Pac-12. The problem is their defense is usual porous against the run. USC is going to run the football and run it a lot. When you look at rivalry games the records usually go out the door. Jim Mora may be coaching for his job the next two weeks.
I really don’t know what to make of the Sun Devils. They lost to Texas Tech and San Diego State early in the season then rebound to beat Washington when they were ranked in the top-five. Todd Graham is another coach that could be out after this season. Patience is thin in Power Five conferences. three consecutive seasons not topping six wins will be a disaster.
I have been extremely surprised by Arizona this season. Rich Rodriguez has good seasons whenever his quarterback situation is stable. Khalil Tate is a monster running the spread option. Once the Wildcats develop a passing game to accompany their dynamic running game they will be a real threat to be atop the Pac-12 power rankings. This season definitely should help with recruiting this year.
