Saquon Barkley. 6. player. 53. . Running Back. Penn State Nittany Lions

The Browns have an opportunity to completely reshape their offense with two top 10 picks. If they’re able to snag a quarterback like Rosen first, the attention should then turn to running back. Isaiah Crowell could be a good option in a committee style backfield, but he’s not someone the Browns can consistently rely on.

Moreover, the Browns need a new core of players in the backfield to lead the offense. And, Rosen is arguably the best player in this class to start that process. If the Browns can add someone to the mix like Penn State Nittany Lions junior running back Saquon Barkley, the offense will start to round out before the start of the 2018 season.

Barkley is, hands down, the best running back in this class. Derrius Guice and Bryce Love (possibly even Nick Chubb) might fall in the initial round, but Barkley is the only guarantee. At one point, Barkley was the clear odds on favorite to win the Heisman.

Until a midseason rough patch hit Penn State, Barkley was the standalone best player in the nation. Losses to Ohio State and Michigan State put the Nittany Lions out of Playoff contention. Now, Penn State faces the Washington Huskies in the Fiesta Bowl.
