12 Sat, Nov 17 vs Ohio State
13 Sat, Nov 24 @ Penn State

The schedule for the Terps doesn’t look that much more difficult on the surface in 2018. However, teams like Minnesota, Indiana and even Rutgers bring back a ton of talent. Outside of a non-conference tilt with Bowling Green, there aren’t games that Maryland can mark down as sure-fire victories.

The game against Texas will be the tone setter for the season. If Matt Canada’s revamped offense can outscore the Longhorns again the resulting momentum could carry Maryland to a 4-0 start. If, and that’s a big if, they can reach that milestone all bets are off.

It’s going to take a huge start for Maryland if they hope to return to a bowl this season. Ending the season with Michigan State, Ohio State and Penn State could be most challenging final run of any team in the country. That doesn’t bode well for Maryland, no matter how fast they’re able to start.

At this point there are too many unknowns to have any semblance of faith in this team to achieve anything significant. It’s going to take a major upset or two (or three) for Maryland to eek out a .500 record, and that’s probably not going to happen.

Prediction: 3-9 (1-8 Big Ten)
