Next up for Miami is a road trip up north to face the Toledo Rockets. This is the back end of a home and home between the two schools. Last year the Hurricanes routed the Rockets 52-30.

Toledo is coming off an 11 win season and a MAC championship. They did get shutout by Appalachian State in the bowl game, leaving a sour mark on what was otherwise a great season. MAC player of the year quarterback Logan Woodside is off to the NFL so the Rockets will need to find his replacement. However, the rest of the offense is shaping up to be just as potent as last year, a team that averaged 484 yards and 38 points per game. The defense is not great, but if the offense is clicking, it can simply outscore the opponents.

This one could be slightly closer than last year’s version but Miami should still post a comfortable win. The Miami offense has a few sustained drives leading to scores and the defense bends some to Toledo’s terrific offense, but not enough to cause too much worry. The Hurricanes also come up with a couple turnovers, returning one interception for six points.

Final: Miami 38, Toledo 21 (3-0)
