1. Burrow has a great second half

Joe Burrow is going to do the opposite of Eric Dungey, Kurt Benkert and others against the Miami defense and he’ll start to shine in the second half. Once the hype of the moment wears off, and his nerves settle, I love what I see in Burrow. I realize it was only a spring football game with limited contact this seasons but Burrow showed the ability to look off defenders, flip his hips to fire accurate passes, and he has the arm strength to make big throws.

The biggest quality he has is everyone speaks of Burrow’s leadership skills and his ability to be a great teammate. The greatest gift of football is teaching young people to be great teammates. The media press behind Burrow thus far has been his ability to be a great teammate and leader down in Baton Rouge. Where Danny Etling managed the football game and made minimal big mistakes while also not making any big time plays; Burrow has the tools to be a game changer.

As Miami’s interior defense wears down and Manny Diaz starts calling more blitzes, Burrow will have the space he needs to hit on crossing routes that he ran and knows so well from his time at Ohio State under Urban Meyer. Coach Meyer has loved the crossing route since his time at Utah and really took ahold of them with Percy Harvin at the University of Florida. If LSU dials up crossing routes against the Miami inside linebackers there’s a big gap for Burrow to pick apart the ‘Canes defense.
