2. Rondale Moore has star written all over him

The Boilermakers were an explosive offense at times last year, but they seemed to be missing a vital piece.

Enter true freshman Rondale Moore from famed Trinity High School in Louisville, Kentucky.

Moore was ranked 100th at his position and fourth in Kentucky, not earning a national ranking according to Rivals. Maybe all of that just served as motivation, because he shined bright in the Thursday night spotlight.

At 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds, Moore is a perfect slot receiver in the spread attack put in by Jeff Brohm, who would have watched his new star grow up during his days coaching in Louisville.

Moore made an impact in the first quarter, taking a handoff and dancing his way to the end zone for a 76-yard run. That came just minutes after he hauled in a 32-yard score for six.

He also almost broke a school record in the first half, accounting for 302 all-purpose yards. The Purdue record is 312 for an entire game. Moore finished the evening with two carries for 79 yards and a score, 11 receptions for 109 yards and another touchdown, and five kickoff returns for 125 yards.
