3. Jeremy Larkin makes Northwestern fans say ‘Justin Jackson who?’
With two first half touchdowns and almost 100 yards rushing, Jeremy Larkin definitely picked up the pieces for the departed Justin Jackson.
The sophomore from Cincinnati served as Jackson’s backup last year, appearing in all 13 games and rushing for 503 yards. That included a 112-yard performance in the Music City Bowl on just nine carries.
For the night, Larkin finished with a career-high 143 yards on a career-high 26 carries, averaging 5.5 yards per attempt. He also found the end zone twice and had a long run of 46 yards.
As a prep, Larkin was a three-time LaSalle Player of the Year and helped his AAU team capture three Ohio state titles. He set school records for total offense, rushing yards in a season, touchdowns in a season and career rushing scores.
