ACC Football Power Rankings, Week 2: Florida State overrated?
The Seminoles were shellshocked in their loss to Virginia Tech on Monday night. Deondre Francois didn’t look to be in any kind of rhythm and the offense sputtered all night. Cam Akers looks to be a potential breakout player in the ACC, but the Seminoles will have to get back to the drawing board this week. A match with Samford should do the trick.
The Hurricanes looked to be heavy favorites against LSU on Sunday but came out with more questions as we near ACC play. The only bright spot for Miami had to be the play of their secondary, as LSU continues to deal with quarterback issues. They held Joe Burrow to only 140 yards through the air and a less than 50 percent completion percentage. Miami faces Savannah State and should get its first win of the season.
The Blue Devils offense looked balanced and could be a potential threat to Clemson and Virginia Tech in ACC play. Daniel Jones picked apart the Black Knights secondary, as he completed 13-of-17 passes for 197 yards and a score. The numbers aren’t eye-popping but the fan base should be extremely happy with the production of the offense. Duke faces a very tough test against Northwestern, so we will know more about them after this game.
