ACC Football Power Rankings, Week 4: Clemson QB change brings momentum
After looking like the worst team in the conference for the month of September, the Tar Heels delivered a shocker by beating Pittsburgh at home this past weekend. North Carolina scored 17 points in the third quarter and Aaron Williams was dominant. He ran for 114 yards and two scores in the win. Can North Carolina pull off another upset against Miami?
In another very surprising ACC matchup, the Cardinals were taken to school by Virginia. They couldn’t do anything on offense and threw for less than 125 passing yards for the game. The defense played respectably in the first half but the wheels fell off in the third quarter. Their Week 5 matchup will be a battle of underperforming teams as the Seminoles coming to town.
Can Virginia become a spoiler in the ACC? That is the question many Cavaliers fans will have after seeing them dominate this past weekend. Bryce Perkins was a dual-threat dynamo all game long, as he ran for a touchdown and threw for two more. Virginia was at the bottom of our rankings for the early part of the season but if they can pick up a win this weekend against a well-rested North Carolina State team they could be for real.
