1. Auburn faces a tough road

The Auburn Tigers’ way forward doesn’t look great. Last week, the Tigers beat Southern Mississippi at home 24-13. This 11-point win against a Conference-USA team was the first big indication that the team was in a decline. Now with a second loss on the season, we know it’s real.

After this Week 6 loss against unranked Mississippi State, we can only assume that bad days are ahead for Auburn. The team faces Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M in its next three games. At this point, all three of these games could go any way. However, after those games, Auburn still has Georgia and Alabama on the schedule.

Auburn could very well end up with six losses on the season, which would mark the worst record for an Auburn team in years. Additionally, Gus Malzahn’s job may be in grave danger at the end of the season if things do not work out. But, as true with most coaches who have big rivalry games, if he beats Alabama, he could be safe.
