Having the week off gives Boston College running back AJ Dillon a chance to get healthier. The offense has looked good in his absence running the ball, but he is still one of the bests running back in the country. Miami comes to town this week and this one should be a measuring stick game for how talented the program is under the current coaching regime.

The Hokies were another team with the week off, and hopefully, the bye has given them some time to work out their issues running the football. The Hokies currently rank 11th in the conference in rushing yards but this week face the Yellow Jackets on Thursday night. They could pick up 200 yards on the ground against such a poor defense.

Last week I said that the next three games for the Blue Devils will determine whether they were a contender in the conference or not. The first of those three games clearly proved that they aren’t ready to contend for the ACC title as they were beaten easily by Virginia 28 to 14. They will look to get their ground game going against Pittsburgh this week, after running the ball 27 times for 58 yards in the loss to Virginia.
