1. USC’s JT Daniels struggled while UCLA’s Joshua Kelley shined

JT Daniels did not have his best game in his first chance to play in one of the most storied rivalries in college football. He threw two interceptions, which for USC has been a bad sign all season. The Trojans were 1-4 this season when Daniels throws at least one interception. Make that 1-5 now as they fell to UCLA tonight.

His team also failed to put up much of anything offensively in the second half, something that was a theme for this Trojan team as of late and that is not something that you want to be known for. UCLA had the same issue too, but they were able to fix that this week. USC did not.

On the other side, UCLA’s Joshua Kelley had a night to remember. He finished with 289 yards on 40 carries and two touchdowns. That is the most rush yards by a single player in the history of this rivalry on either side. This was the 88th matchup between UCLA and USC. That is exactly what the Bruins and Chip Kelly needed to get his team on the right track going forward to the 2019 season.
