4. Marquise Brown, CeeDee Lamb were nearly unguardable

Having two receivers who were virtually unguardable was just unfair for the rest of college football. The Big 12 defensive backfields all had nightmares of Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and CeeDee Lamb blowing by them for an easy six points.

Brown had a heck of a junior season with the Sooners, catching 75 passes for 1,318 yards and 10 touchdowns while Lamb followed up a strong freshman year with a spectacular sophomore campaign, catching 65 passes for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns. These two guys combined for 140 receptions and over 2,000 yards while the rest of the team had less than 2,000 yards and 115 catches.

This duo was unguardable this year and the Sooners are going to miss Brown a great deal moving forward, especially with a new quarterback taking over in 2019.

Lamb will be back for his junior year after accounting for about 2,000 yards through his first two seasons with the Sooners.
