There’s a big in-state battle brewing for one of Mississippi’s top recruits, Jonathan Mingo. The four-star from Brandon, Miss., is ranked the No. 215 overall player and 32nd-best receiver in the class as well as the No. 12 player from a loaded state of Mississippi, according to 247Sports.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound receiver is currently committed to Ole Miss, but Mississippi State is making a serious push. He’s fresh off an official visit with Ole Miss, but before that, he took an official on Jan. 17 to Starkville and Joe Moorhead’s Mississippi State program.

If you think that this is a done deal, you may not follow much recruiting. He didn’t sign his letter of intent with the Rebels back in December and has been committed since July 31.

Mississippi State could use another receiver target to help out whoever starts at quarterback for the Bulldogs in 2019, and Mingo could be a day one contributor for this program. The Under Armour All-American will have an interesting National Signing Day.
