When four-star defensive end Byron Young committed to Alabama over the summer, Mississippi State and Ole Miss fans were devastated that an in-state prospect of his caliber got away.

However, when he didn’t sign his letter of intent with the Crimson Tide back in December, a door opened up for the Bulldogs to swoop in. He took an official visit to Mississippi State on Jan. 25, just one week after he took a trip to Ole Miss. He’ll be at LSU this weekend before signing day and it seems as if he’s weighing his options before making a solidified choice.

If you go by the Crystal Ball on 247Sports, you’d see that no one knows where this kid is going to land as Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Alabama are all receiving 29 percent of the votes — right now, it’s up in the air, but there’s a good chance he flips to one of his home-state programs.

Young would be quite the get for the Bulldogs who are tasked with replacing Montez Sweat, the former transfer from Michigan State who seamlessly became an All-American talent.

The four-star from Laurel, Miss., is ranked the No. 76 player in the class and the seventh-best defensive tackle in the class.
