Remember when I said the state of Mississippi was loaded in the 2019 class? Jerrion Ealy is proof of that as the five-star from Flowood, Miss., is the third-best player from the state, No. 3 running back in the country and No. 26 recruit overall in the 2019 class, per 247Sports.

Mississippi State has Kylin Hill returning for his junior year but the Bulldogs could use another rusher, especially since dual-threat quarterback Nick Fitzgerald is on his way out. This will make up for the yards that he’s bringing with him and it’ll give the Bulldogs a nice one-two punch in the backfield.

Ealy is one of the nation’s premier recruits and an elite running back with a bright future, but the Bulldogs are fighting an uphill battle as the five-star could be looking to leave the state of Mississippi for college ball — Clemson is the current favorite to land him.

If the Bulldogs can beat out the Tigers, they may soon have their feature back. If he chooses Clemson, he would have to sit behind Travis Etienne for at least a year. Don’t forget, Ole Miss is also in the mix to land the five-star.
