Florida Football: 5 signees who’ll have instant impact for Gators in 2019
This was probably the biggest win of the 2019 recruiting cycle for Florida. Although he’s not the highest-rated signee, or even early enrollee, for the Gators, Khris Bogle was an Alabama commit until the Gators flipped him on National Signing Day, leaving Nick Saban high-and-dry.
Bogle is still a top-100 recruit, ranked No. 71 in the class and listed as the third-best weak-side defensive end and No. 10 Florida prospect, per 247Sports. He’s the kind of player who can get after a quarterback relentlessly and use his athleticism at the defensive end spot. He’s not the biggest guy on the field, standing 6-foot-3.5 and 212 pounds, but he is quick off the edge.
Some may see his slight frame as a weakness, but it helps him speed past heftier offensive tackles and he’s only going to get stronger, and quicker, at the next level. This is a kid who can play right away, barring the fact that he hits the weight room hard.
Stealing him from Alabama was huge for the momentum of Dan Mullen’s recruiting efforts moving forward. It shows that he can compete with the big kids on the block.
