Out of Concord, Calif., Devin Asiasi was picking between Michigan and USC after being ranked one of the top-100 recruits in the country. He was also ranked the No. 3 tight end in the 2016 class and Jim Harbaugh one heck of a recruiting battle and looked to have his next great at the position in Ann Arbor.

But things don’t always work out perfectly.

Asiasi decided to move back home and play for UCLA and you can bet Chip Kelly is ready to utilize the athletic tight end and former Army All-American.

The offense hasn’t yet taken off under Kelly’s reign, but that seems to be right around the corner, especially with a 6-3, 250-pound athletic pass-catcher like Asiasi at tight end, replacing all-everything performer Caleb Wilson.

It’s not going to be easy to replace a tight end who finished with 965 yards and four touchdowns on 60 catches a season ago, but Asiasi is more than capable of a breakout campaign.
