Kansas State Football: Top 5 spring 2019 breakout candidates
Not exactly the highest-rated recruit in Kansas State’s 2018 class, Malik Knowles flew under the radar and looked solid in limited action as a true freshman. He was listed as the No. 235 receiver in the class, according to 247Sports, but exceeded that ranking.
In fact, Knowles caught 10 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns, flashing star potential in the receiving corps with his 6-2, 185-pound frame.
Fortunately for Kansas State, Knowles’ redshirt was preserved as he played in just four games and even started against Texas Tech in 2018.
There’s an excitement around the fan base concerning Knowles and the Wildcats may have more of a passing game thanks to new head coach Chris Klieman. Yes, that means more than just 1,800 total passing yards as a team and a more intriguing offense to watch is on the horizon.
Knowles will be a major part of that improving offense in 2019.
