5. Xzavier Henderson, 4-star WR

When it comes to four-star players that add depth to talented teams, you usually pick positions every other year to prioritize. You simply can’t recruit every position every year. However, wide receiver is a very important position, so Clemson tries their best to get a couple of players ever year. Xzavier Henderson would definitely be an asset for the Tigers.

Henderson has the size and athleticism to play on the outside, and his hands are good enough to make tough catches in coverage. Wherever he decides to go, he will get time early and often as a receiver. He also plays defense in high school, which gives him an insight in which routes work against defensive backs.

From Miami, there will be a lot of contention for Henderson. Both Florida and Miami are high on Henderson’s list along with Clemson. Henderson actually has a connection with the Gators, where his brother CJ Henderson plays. It would be hard for him to turn down the opportunity to play on the same team as his brother.

As of right now, Clemson appears to be the in the front seat to land Henderson, but we are far from National Signing Day. There is still time for Florida and Miami to work their way back in. There might even be a surprise team slide in over the summer. Right now, I would give Florida the edge over Miami, but I wouldn’t pick either over the Clemson Tigers. Henderson would add to the talented core as a freshman, and he has the skill to be the top receiver as an upperclassman.
