Purdue Football: Can Boilermakers find consistency in 2019?

While Purdue sits behind Wisconsin, Northwestern, Iowa and even Nebraska is most preseason predictions to win the Big Ten West, the Boilermakers have everything they need to have one of their most successful seasons in school history.

Tough road games leave all the pressure at home for the Boilermakers in 2019. Unless they plan to sweep the likes of Penn State, Iowa, Northwestern and Wisconsin, Purdue will have to be almost perfect at Ross-Ade Stadium, a place where their 7-6 in the previous two seasons.

Luckily for Purdue they enter 2019 with a more balanced and experienced team and with key leaders on both sides of the ball, the Boilermakers are able to take care of business at home, providing less pressure in those crucial conference road games. But how does Purdue’s full season turn out?

Prediction: 8-4, 5-3 (3rd in Big Ten West)

The Boilermakers are able to go 6-1 at home in 2019 but drop three out of five games on the road. Their biggest road victory comes in their revenge game against Northwestern which is the highlight victory of the 2019 season. While it’s not a West division title, it’s still another step in the right direction for Purdue Football.
