Mohamed Ibrahim was a three-star recruit coming out of Olney, Md., where he attended Good Counsel High School. He turned down offers from various Power Five programs like West Virginia, Iowa and Virginia Tech to play for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
In Mohamed’s first game of his college career, the Gophers only handed the ball off to him nine times and somehow he still managed to rush for over 100 yards, averaging over 11 yards per carry.
Ibraham continued to be productive each and every week, by either rushing for over 100 yards or coming very close almost every single Saturday. In fact, he only had two games where he rushed for under 95 yards.
He managed to rush for over 150 yards on three different occasions in his freshman season and saved his best performance for last by running for 224 yards and two touchdowns against Georgia Tech in the Quick Lane Bowl.
