In a short period of time, the prospect of a road trip to the swamp has become daunting once again. With just a year under his belt as the head coach in Gainesville, Dan Mullen’s Gators have already won ten games and thrust themselves into the conversation at the top of the SEC.

The Florida resurgence makes this renewal of a classic matchup even more exciting. These SEC foes used to meet on a yearly basis, but have only played three times since 2002. On the rare instance the Tigers and Gators get together, the atmosphere is always guaranteed to be electric. Considering the potential for each of these teams, that will be amplified even more.

The Tigers lead this series all-time by a count of 43-38-2, and they’ve won four of the last five. That trend is likely to reverse in 2019. Mullen is just getting started in Gainesville, and the Gators will likely be even better than the team that won double digit games a year ago.

For Auburn, they’ll get a bye week following this matchup. It will be a welcome break after the first three conference matchups, plenty of challenges still remain on the schedule.

Prediction: Loss (4-2, 1-2)
