Purdue Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Nevada in Week 1
By Dante Pryor
2. Both quarterbacks will have big games
Last season, the Boilermakers surrendered 284.7 passing yards per game and quarterbacks completed 62 percent of their passes against them. Purdue’s defensive front wasn’t consistent, but it was the secondary that gave up too many big plays.
Carson Strong will have a good running game to keep Purdue’s defense honest and a good, deep veteran group of receivers to give Purdue’s mediocre secondary fits.
Nevada’s secondary was their biggest concern coming into camp, and that unit that gave up 245.5 yards per game will face one of the better passing attacks in the country. Elijah Sindelar has plenty of weapons to distribute the ball to.
We know about Rondale Moore, but the Wolf Pack also have to contend with David Bell and Milton Wright along with tight end Brycen Hopkins. Simply put bad secondary and bad secondary together and that equals lots of passing yards for both teams.
