Wisconsin Football: 3 bold predictions vs. USF in Week 1
By Dante Pryor
2. South Florida won’t have trouble scoring
We all know Wisconsin wants to play tough, hard-nosed, physical defense, but it’s hard to hit what you can’t catch. The one thing the Bulls bring to this party is speed, and they have lots of it on offense.
South Florida features Florida Gator transfer Jordan Cronkrite who ran for over 1,100 yards at 6.1 yards per carry last season and freshman sensation Randall St. Felix who averaged 20 yards per catch and was the most exciting freshman wide receiver to watch last season outside of Rondale Moore.
One of the most important moves down in Tampa isn’t with a player, but with a coach. Charlie Strong is going all in on the spread by hiring former Valdosta State head coach Kerwin Bell who won a Division II National Championship in 2018 with the Blazers. Wide open spread concepts should give the Bulls an opportunity to take advantage of their speed in space.
Also, the Bulls are taking on a Wisconsin defense that has legitimate question marks at all three levels this season. If the Bulls can use their speed along with some tempo, they should be able to score some points against the Badger defense.
