3. Jayhawks offense was dominant

Perhaps the most shocking aspect of Friday night’s upset was that Kansas moved the ball, essentially, at will. The Jayhawk rushing attack consistently gashed the Eagles for big yardage, time and time again.

Both of the Kansas backs were great. Pookah Williams had 121 yards on 22 carries, and he found the end zone once. It was Khalil Herbert, however, who was truly effective. He had 187 yards on only 11 attempts, averaging 17 yards per touch.

Carter Stanley had a nice night through the air. He went 20-of-27 for 238 yards, and he found the end zone on three separate occasions.

Andrew Parchment was the main benefactor of Stanley’s solid game. The wideout had 100 yards on eight catches, with two of those being scoring receptions.

In Lawrence, the hope is that this game is a portent of things to come. On Friday night, Kansas showed that finally, at the very least, they’ve got the athletes.
