2. Jaren Mangham needs more touches

I could have made this takeaway all about how Laviska Shenault Jr. is unbelievably good after another 100-yard outing, but that would have been too easy — and frankly, too obvious.

It’s tough to tell on just 10 touches, but there’s a different feel to Jaren Mangham in the backfield. Granted, I might be a little biased because I watched him play in high school and thought he was one of the best prospects in the state of Michigan, but he just has that it factor.

On just 10 touches against Air Force, he led the Buffaloes in rushing with 56 yards. He didn’t score a touchdown, but continues his strong start to the season.

The big-bodied rusher had 84 yards and three touchdowns heading into the game, but now has over 130 on the year. He may not be the flashiest back, but he makes defenders pay if they try to arm tackle and he could be the work-horse that the offense is looking for.
