2. We should be worried about Lamical Perine

It’s officially time to start worrying, right? Florida’s No. 1 running back can’t seem to find any running lanes which has led to just 120 yards and two touchdowns through three weeks. He has broken the 50-yard mark just one time and isn’t as effective as he was last year.

In fact, Perine had 826 yards and averaged 6.2 yards per carry a year ago, so he’s far off that pace. He’s currently averaging a mere 3.5 yards per touch which is slightly concerning, but again, it’s only Week 3 so there’s plenty of time to figure out his issues.

Has Perine lost his touch in the backfield? Should he be surrendering carries to Dameon Pierce? The answer to both is no. Perine has proven himself in the past and he has had one truly bad game (Kentucky) while faring well on just 10 carries against both Miami and Tennessee-Martin. He will turn things around, but he has to feel plenty of pressure.

With Feleipe Franks out, he could see his rushing numbers increase as the offense will lean on him more. He’s a talented back and while his numbers are concerning, he can turn it around.
