2. Figure out the run game

While Felipe Franks received got a lot of complaints from Gators fans on his performance, the passing game was hardly the issue for the Gators. The passing game has faltered due to their complete inability to run the football. Up until Josh Hammond’s touchdown run, the Gators had only 62 yards on the ground in the game. That won’t be good enough in the SEC.

The Gators currently rank No. 91 in the nation in rushing offense, averaging a measly 139.7 yards per game. Lamical Perine has not lived up to expectations so far this season, averaging only 3.5 yards per carry so far on the season.

This game is a great opportunity to get going for the Gators, as Tennessee is No. 74 in rushing defense, surrendering nearly 154 yards per game. Perine and company will need to get going as the SEC schedule offers a grueling test, and giving some breathing room for the inexperienced quarterback in Trask.
