Wisconsin Football: 3 keys to victory over Michigan in Week 4

3. Keep Jack Coan going
Jack Coan has looked like a completely new quarterback in 2019. After having an up and down season replacing Alex Hornibrook at the end of last season, Coan has been nothing short of magnificent thus far.
Through two games, he’s completed 76 percent of his passes, throwing for 9.6 yards per attempt and five touchdowns and zero interceptions. One of the biggest issues with Hornibrook and Coan last season was turning over the ball, as they combined for 14 interceptions.
That sort of turnover numbers is difficult to overcome, and the Badgers’ typically stout defense had issues with keeping points off the board due to losing the turnover battles constantly.
A lot of his success has been the weapons on offense getting better. Quintez Cephus returning to the Badger roster has been a huge upgrade, as they now have a true number one target to pair with Jake Ferguson and A.J. Taylor. In addition to the stacked receiving core, running back Jonathan Taylor and Garrett Groshek have been tremendous catching out of the back field. These options are great for Coan to find success.
Coan has been incredible to start the season, and his job of taking care of the ball and letting Jonathan Taylor and the defense continue to shine is the key to the Badgers making a run in the Big Ten.
