UCF loses a heartbreaker on the road at Pitt

Clemson lost at home to Pitt in 2016. Ohio State lost to Purdue last year. The college football world is acting like this loss debunks UCF’s argument to be taken seriously, but this weekend’s result isn’t unique to the Knights.

Mike Leach suffers his annual weird loss tradition

Washington State was up 32 in the third quarter. Anthony Gordon broke a Cougar record, set by Gardner Minshew, with nine touchdowns in the game, but it wouldn’t be enough. Somehow, the Bruins, led by Dorian Thompson-Robinson, came back to grab a 67-63 win in Pullman.

Washington and Oregon both back on track

Both the Ducks and Huskies suffered early season losses, but things appear to be back on track. Washington defeated BYU on Saturday by a score of 45-19, while Oregon beat Stanford, 21-6. Even with the early detours, the matchup of those two teams on Oct. 19 is still the Pac-12’s most important game.

Georgia gets a huge win over Notre Dame

This is only here because, well, what really is there to say? Georgia’s awesome. They could have done a better job at putting Notre Dame away, but that’s a really good team. There’s obviously an entire season still in front of us, but it’s tough not to look ahead to the potential Alabama vs. Georgia rematch in Atlanta.
