1. Brock Purdy must play well

Just as Charlie Brewer is the catalyst for the Baylor offense, Brock Purdy makes the Iowa State Cyclones go. Purdy, of course, is their leading passer as well as the Cyclones’ second-leading rusher. He came into this season with big expectations.

This was the season that Purdy was to break out and become one of the best quarterbacks in the Big 12. He’s delivered on those expectations so far.

Although he wasn’t great in the Iowa game, he did put his team in position to win. He played angry against Louisiana-Monroe, and broke several single-game school records against the Warhawks.

Purdy should have time behind one of the best offensive line units in the Big 12, and if the run game builds off of their performance from last week, he should have opportunities to get the ball to a group of talented, yet underrated receivers.
