Jalen Hurts slid last week since Oklahoma had the bye week. So far, bye weeks have been the only thing that have been able to stop this Oklahoma offense. Oklahoma still hasn’t truly been tested, but Jalen Hurts has done everything that can be asked of him.

Hurts is arguably the best dual threat quarterback in college football right now. He’s as balanced as you can possibly be. As a runner, Hurts uses his lower-body strength to power through linebackers. Since he’s joined forces with Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma, his passing ability has improved immensely. He is reading the offense better, making better decisions, and it appears that his arm is stronger as well.

I don’t know what to expect from Oklahoma’s opponents as we head down the stretch. It appears as if Texas will be their only true test, but don’t count out teams like Baylor and Iowa State to keep things interesting when they play. Because there aren’t any huge games on the schedule, it might be hard for Hurts to get his Heisman moment in November.

Don’t let that fool you, though. Hurts has the name recognition that is needed to overcome the lack of a Heisman moment. We all know exactly who Jalen Hurts is. We’ve heard his story from every possible angle, and it is nearly impossible to root against him at this point.

I think Hurts is as close to a lock as you can be to make it to New York. If they both make it, it will be interesting to see how he interacts with Tua, his former teammate and the reason why he is no longer at Alabama.
